SAC Sponsored Plaque Program

We are happy to see that many of the plaques already are sponsored by several generous sponsors. But there are still some vacant sponsorhip available. Please take a look in the list and consider if you want to be a sponsor.
If you have an idea of a new type of plaque, please let us know.

The annual cost of sponsorship is 23 euros/plaque.

SAC features a sponsored plaque program to increase interest and participation in the contest. The plaque winners and sponsors are published on the SAC website  and in the annual “SAC Results and Stories” PDF booklet.

The contest committee is pleased to invite you to the 65:th Scandinavian Activity contest. It all started in 1959 during the famous solar cycle 19.

The rules are unchanged from 2023, but don’t forget to read them! Several participants miss the frequency limits, so please check them.

Don’t forget to announce your own activity. Doing so will inspire others to join and make their own challenges. Those who have already signed up can be seen at Announced operations CW and SSB. If you need to change your entry, just email us at support@sactest.net.

Thanks to the generous contributions of many individuals, there are several Sponsored Plaques available for both Scandinavian and non-Scandinavian operators to pursue. Please take a look at the last years sponsored plaque program and pick your target.

SAC 2023 announcement

After cancelling year 2022 SAC we now come back in 2023 with two fresh contest weekends and YOU are invited to participate.
Right now we are preparing the new ideas that will come with the 2023 SAC tests and we look forward to announce the news on this page during the springtime.

SAC 2022 cancelled

Let us say loud and clearly; No one is more sad of this situation than us, the SAC CC members, who only want to make a good Contest experience.

SAC CC consists of four members from four different Nordic countries and the individual countries’ organizations have different ideas about how to handle the ongoing war in Ukraine in the context of amateur radio contesting often referred as radiosport.

Each of us had to follow the statements of our respective organizations and we had no other solution than to cancel 2022 Contests.

We have no further comments.

Scandinavian Activity Contests 2022 CANCELLED

The SAC Contest Committee has unanimously decided to cancel this year’s two sections of the Contest.
Our decision has been made due to the ongoing war in the region and in consideration of the IARU declaration about friendship between people. 
We hope that the situation will change for the better, so that we can once again compete against each other as the SAC rules dictate.

“IARU is an apolitical organization focused on promoting and defending amateur radio and the amateur radio services. The amateur radio service is about self-instruction in communications and friendship between people.”

While waiting for results

The SAC Contests are over for this year and your log is being reviewed for errors and omissions. We hope that this work in the Contest Committee will be ready for publication sometime in December 2021.
While you wait for your result, we would very much like to encourage you to write a short post about your experience of this year’s SAC test. It will also be really good to receive some pictures that are related to you and your work as a radio amateur – preferably in connection with SAC. The material will be used in SAC Booklet 2021.

SAC Phone is next in line

The SSB part of Scandinavian Activity Contest will take place
9. October 12 UTC – 10. October 12 UTC

Each part of this “Polar Battle” gathers 1000+ contesters from all around the world. SAC offers non-Scandinavians a unique opportunity to work the propagationally challenged Arctic nations and practice your skills.
From the CW part in September this year we have received almost 1400 logs and out of the received logs we can see that more than 1500 have participated. This is nearly the same numbers as in CW 2020.

Welcome to our new member

As you may have noticed, Tomi OH6EI had left the Contest Committee earlier this year and the Finnish CC-member place have been vacant. However, Tomi has not completely left the work with SAC as he, this year again will organize the work with sponsored plaques.
We have just received the uplifting news that a new Finnish member has arrived and we are pleased to welcome Martti OH2BH to the working group. Martti are well known within the contest community and it looks to be an exciting spring 2022 when we again have to work further with new upgraded rules.
