SAC CW 2013 Results

The results for SAC CW 2013 are now published

We are very pleased to see that the interest in SAC CW has increased again and we had 1327 submitted logs this year.

Congratulations to all winners!

We are also happy see that several score records were broken:

SINGLE OPERATOR ALL BAND HIGH North America: AA2A
SINGLE OPERATOR ALL BAND LOW Scandinavia: OH0V
SINGLE OPERATOR ALL BAND LOW North America: VE3DZ
SINGLE OPERATOR ALL BAND HIGH ASSISTED Asia: RG9AA
SINGLE OPERATOR ALL BAND HIGH ASSISTED Oceania: VK2OXZ

The UBN-logs of all SAC participants are open to the public. They are just a click away. Click on your call in the listings to see the UBN-file. If you click on the rank number you will be able to download a PDF award. Use the Results menu above to see all listings. Please send questions, information on any problems to support@sactest.net.

This year we continued to enforced the rule that forbids operation below 3510 kHz and each QSO found in that region has been given zero points and no multiplier credit, but no further penalty.  We have also moved a handful of Single Operators All Band to ASSISTED after we detected the use of Dx Cluster and/or Reverse Beacon Net.

Currently we are working with SSB logs and hope to publish them in a couple of weeks.

Thank You!

Thanks to all who particpated in SAC CW and SAC SSB. We are now doing the logchecking with full steam. This year the log submission records for CW and SSB were broken. This year we received 1327 (+11%) CW logs and 1046 (+14%) SSB.

More than 300.000 QSO-lines for CW and  240.000 for SSB will be checked rigorously by the SAC Contest Committee. Stay tuned for the results …

Time to submit your SAC SSB Log!

The SAC SSB 2013 is over and we are happy that the propagation this year was fantastic compared to 2012. Lot’s of stations made large amounts of QSO’s on the higher bands.

One week after the contest, we have received more than 900 logs. But we still want more submissions, no matter how many QSO’s you made! So please send in your log, if you haven’t done it already.

CHECK YOUR CATEGORY
Before you submit your log, take extra care and check that you have entered the correct category according to the rules. Note that there are different sets of categories within or outside Scandinavia. If you are outside Scandinavia you may use the DX-cluster, but if you do, you must enter the Assisted category as a Single Operator.

USE THE ROBOT
Please submit your log, using our log-robot at http://sactest.net/robot
If you encounter any problems, you may submit your log again. If problems persists, contact us by email support@sactest.net. If you have logged on paper, a good tool to use is WA7BNM Cabrillo Manual Log Entry.

SAC 2012 Survey Results

The SAC 2012 Survey Result is now available.

After SAC 2012, a web-based worldwide survey in English was undertaken to gauge the feelings and thoughts of radio amateurs concerning SAC, its current state, and envisioned future development. An invitation to respond to the survey was sent by e-mail to hundreds of former SAC participants and to the CQ-Contest reflector. A total of 219 responses were received, constituting a reliable base for forming a good understanding of how SAC is currently regarded.

The contest committee extends a warm thanks to all who participated in the survey. As a whole, it appears that most respondents appreciate SAC and the efforts that have been undertaken to develop the contest. Criticism and constructive suggestions were also received, and they serve as a valuable aid in the further development of SAC rules, awards, promotion, etc.
